Apartheid:
Israel has lost its soul
Franco Isman

Deicide people.
Wicked Jews.
And the Jews were locked up in ghettos, persecuted, expelled, killed in pogroms, until Hitler's final solution which deported and murdered six million Jews.
But already in the late nineteenth century Zionism was born, a movement that had the aim of establishing a Jewish state entity in Palestine, then under Ottoman domination, a state in which anti-Semitism could not exist. A very strong moral boost, a hope of being able to live in peace, the kibbutzs where university professors cultivated the land.

Then in May 1948 the almost unanimous resolution of the UN which decreed the constitution in Palestine of two states, one Palestinian and one Jewish, the refusal of the Arab states and the attack on the newborn state of Israel with the declared intention of throwing the Jews overboard.
Then the Six Day War of 1967, unleashed by Israel, and that of Yom Kippur in 1973 by Egypt.
Finally, leaving aside another twenty years of clashes with Arab terrorism, Israel's punitive expeditions to Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, Sadat's courageous attempt at peace, for this reason murdered by an Arab extremist, and of Rabin, murdered by an extremist Israeli settler, and that of Camp David, in 1993-1995 the Oslo accords between the PLO and Israel with the establishment of a provisional border between the Palestinian territory (divided into three zones A, B and C) and Israel, the famous green line.
It could have been the beginning of peace and collaboration between the two peoples.
The PLO announced the renunciation of violent actions, but Hamas did not reciprocate by ceasing its terrorist actions, particularly with the atrocious suicide attacks against the civilian population.
Israel for its part, under the leadership of Benjamin Netanyahu, in power in the years 1996-1999 and then continuously from March 2009 to today, immediately began an expansionist and robbery policy towards the Palestinians.
The wall, theoretically built on the green line, achieved its purpose of stopping suicide bombings but it trespassed deeply into Palestinian territory, which Netanyahu refuses to call anything other than Samaria, incorporating vast territories with sources of water into Jewish settlements and even creating numerous new neighborhoods in Jerusalem itself, all declared illegal by the UN.
I have spoken extensively and documented about it in the article written at the end of the trip to Palestine made in August 2005 and the situation has worsened but practically always the same.
In the Palestinian territories administered by Israel (zone C) an apartheid regime was clearly in force, we saw it from the beginning in the journey from Tel Aviv airport to Jerusalem along a beautiful highway, manned with checkpoints, forbidden to Palestinians who conversely must take alternative narrow and winding roads.
Another very serious example is that, while Israeli settlers in illegally settled land are subject to the Israeli penal code, Palestinians are subject to the military code which allows, among other things, arrest and detention without time limits at the discretion of the military authority.
Yehudit Karp, former Deputy Attorney General, tells us that the High Court of Justice in Israel with its recent ruling “has provided a legal seal of approval for the existence of two separate legal systems in the same geographical area under one government. One is privileged for Jewish citizens of the ruling authority who live in the region (contrary to international law) and whose human rights are protected, and the other - discriminatory, oppressive and draconian - for those who are governed, resident in the region, who are identified on the basis of a different national or ethnic affiliation”.
Israel, the Israel of Netanyahu, now openly wants to achieve the Greater Israel, from the Mediterranean to the banks of the Jordan, tries in every way to "encourage" the Palestinians to leave and even or especially takes it out on the children.
Israel operates outside international law but the "good Jew" cannot see it, is blind and instead accuses those who are not blind of being anti-Semitic.
And instead anti-Semitism, which is raising its head and becoming dangerous again, finds new inspiration also from these atrocious behaviors of Israel.
